PSV began the new season with a monster victory.
On Saturday afternoon the DOSKO amateurs of Bergen op Zoom were beaten by 11-0.
Trainer Philip Cocu was unable to deploy the internationals Adam Maher, Kevin Strootman, Memphis Depay, Jeroen Zoet, Georginio Wijnaldum and Florian Jozefzoon. They were playing with the Dutch national junior team at the European Championships in Israel.
This gave the young members of the Eindhoven selection an excellent opportunity to put themselves in the spotlight. The 18-year-old James Hendrix was even in the starting line-up.
PSV’s visit to DOSKO involved a lot of work for the small club. The main patch in Bergen op Zoom has artificial grass. PSV asked for the friendly duel to be moved to a different pitch. This meant that the club had to build additional temporary stands to make room for all the supporters.
