From next month onwards the Stratumseind will get its own market. The first edition of the new Stratumseind Street Festival will be on Saturday 3 August (if the permit is approved on time).
Initiator Dorothée Foole wants to bring back the liveliness in the street with the festival; “Stratumseind was always a shopping street, now there is nothing to do during the day. On Saturdays it will be different with the street festival. The creative craftsmanship should be central”.
Creative entrepreneurs will get the chance to sell their products on the market. A number of pubs, cafes and bars have already committed to be open during the day.
This year the launch will be for 11 Saturdays in a row. Foole hopes the Stratumseind Street Festival will be a permanent structure from next year onwards.
