Taichung in Taiwan elected smartest region

Taichung in Taiwan was elected as smartest region in the world on Friday evening. It is the first time that the prize has been awarded under the watchful eye of Mayor Rob Gijzel.

Mayor Van Gijzel, who in January was appointed as Chairman of the Intelligent Community Forum Foundation, Called Taichung a worthy successor to the American Riverside (2012) and Eindhoven (2011). Taichung is an industrial port city.  In recent years, the city has invested in information and communication technology. The founders of ICFF, Louis Zacharilla and Robert Bell presented the award in New York.
