The TU/e Solar Team will reveal on July 4, the first family car powered by solar energy. With this vehicle, the students will participate in the World Solar Challenge in Australia.
The car can accommodate four people and has a range of about 600 kilometres. The vehicle is unique because it is allowed in traffic. The ‘RDW’ (Traffic Department), will approve the solar powered automobile. The solar powered automobile will take part in the ‘Cruiser’ category during the World Solar Challenge. The emphasis being on its user-friendliness and not its speed.
