The new name of bookshop Van Piere + De Slegte will be Polare. The official launch is coming Thursday.
With the launch of the name the merger between the two bookshops is completed. According to Chief Executive Paul Dumas the name Polare was inspired by the Polar Star ‘Stella Polare’, for centuries an important benchmark in navigation. In the bookstore it stands for ‘guide which helps customers find the correct books’. Apart from a new name Polare will be having a web shop as well as a new app soon.
