HELMOND – The mayor and aldermen of Helmond will wait before requesting a demolition permit voor the theater ’t Speehuis. The city council first want to hear the opinion of the municipal assembly on March 6.
The mayor and aldermen regret that the municipal assembly first heard of the plans to demolish the cultural complex through the media. They admit that they made an unfortunate decision in that. ‘’t Speelhuis was destroyed by a fire at the end of 2011.It has been revealed that the information, which the mayor and aldermen first wanted to present to the press and then to the municipal assembly, was already available earlier in the day. The information was available at helmond.nl/theaternu and could be found on Google.In addition, the National Service for Cultural Heritage wants to investigate the possibility for the theater to be rebuilt.Source: Omroep Brabant
