CRANENDONK – At the parade in Soerendonk a serious accident has happened Monday afternoon. A head broke off from a car and landed in the audience. Four people were injured, two people slightly and two people more seriously injured.
At least three ambulances were on site. Two people were taken to hospital for observation.Procession stoppedThe parade was stopped immediately after the accident. The public was so shocked by the accident that there was no longer a cozy atmosphere. According to deputy mayor Patrick Beerten there was no panic among the visitors.ReconstructionHow the accident could happen is not clear. The police nonetheless want to reconstruct the accident with the car in question. According to the ED the accident happened when the car drove over a traffic island.
