Narek Hakhnazaryan & Pavel Kolesnikov
March 5, 2017 @ 12:30 - 14:30
€8From the moment he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition with force majeure in 2011, the Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan became a star of a size to be reckoned with. Together with pianist Pavel Kolesnikov they prefer to showcase their “extraordinary mastery of the instruments” in an intimate setting, as chamber music remains their favourite. This time, the pair travels from the German Romanticism of the friends Schumann and Brahms to the incredibly beautiful, frivolous melodies of the late nineteenth century France. Faure, Massenet and Saint-Saëns managed to enchant their audience with passionate virtuosity and finely tuned intimacy. This left us with “evergreens” such as Fauré’s Elegie and Massenet’s Méditation. Let yourself be mesmerized by the musical poetry of Hakhnazaryan and Kolesnikov.
Schumann – Adagio & Allegro
Brahms – Cello Sonata No. 2
Fauré – Élégie
Massenet – Méditation from Thaïs
Saint-Saëns – Allegro appassionato
Fauré – Papillon
