Gay Sauna Tibet has been forced to close by order of the municipality.
A number of things in the sauna at the Anthony Coolenlaan were not in order. Besides fire safety, the technical equipment, hygiene and technical installations were faulty, a spokeswoman for the municipality said.
Quite a lot had already been undertaken, with little or no result, before the municipality ordered to close the sauna. "The municipality started checking the sauna in July and has taken action four times since then," the spokeswoman said.
"Furthermore, two talks were conducted with the owner of the sauna and the manager of the property before, during which we made clear that the defects had to be remedied."
As soon as the requirements of the legislation have been complied with and all the problems have been solved, the sauna will be allowed to open its doors again.
