In 2 weeks, 25 shops will officially open their doors at Edisonstraat. The street is going to have characteristic shops and boutiques, no chain stores.
The street mainly welcomes shops selling ecologically responsible and sustainable products. An Emmaus thrift store will be located in Edisonstraat, as well as a bicycle store selling bikes using second hand frames. There will also be a hair dresser and shops carrying vintage clothing. In terms of food, a falafel store, an organic grocery, a cake store and a water pipe shop will open their doors.
The new shopping centre is part of the Woensel-West neighbourhood renewal plan. The state designated Woensel-West, Doornakkers and Bennekel as deprived neighbourhoods.
