GLOW light festival Eindhoven has initiated a collective of 14 light festivals to exchange experiences and collaborate in developing an international Light Festival Organization.
Light Projects are expensive and the growing public interest in light art attracted an estimated number of 520.000 visitors to Glow Eindhoven last year. Collaboration, development and acquisition make it possible to share the development costs with multiple festivals. Innovative projects can be realized earlier and the demand for knowledge and expertise in light festivals is increasing. Several international light festivals visited Eindhoven during GLOW 2012 and 2013 and Glow Eindhoven will provide the administration for the International Light Festival Organization from 2014.
The first results of the International Light Festival Organization collaboration are already apparent.
The Cloud project from the Signal Festival in Prague was exhibited at GLOW Eindhoven (2013) and more recently at the i Light Marina Bay light festival in Singapore in (2014). The Dutch artists’ Collective project ‘Afterlight’ (2011) has travelled to Ghent, Jerusalem and Cascais (Portugal).
