Especially for highly skilled migrants and scientific researchers, the mvv-sticker will state the employment status, indicating that highly skilled migrants and scientific researchers are allowed to work as soon as they have entered the Netherlands.
This way they can start work even if the residence document is not yet available. This has been agreed upon with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Having an mvv-sticker with the employment status in question, highly skilled migrants and scientific researchers will no longer need to make an appointment with the IND for a so called ‘residence endorsement sticker’ (verblijfsaantekening) to be able to start work. The Labour Inspectorate has been notified of this.
Family members of highly skilled migrants and scientific researchers are free to work on the labour market.
Please note however that family members can only start work after they have received the residence document.
