Eindhoven’s Economic Development Agency, Brainport Development, has found a new home.
As of Monday, the organisation closed the doors of its office on Emmasingel and moved to the Strijp-T Innovation District. As expats know, moving is about more than just occupying a new building. “Over the past ten years, Emmasingel in Eindhoven’s City Centre was a place many people walked into,” says Paul van Nunen, Brainport Development’s General Director.
“They wanted to help Brainport Development’s people grow and strengthen the entire Brainport region. That period proved fruitful; things are looking good. Employment figures are good, and we have been given the status of a ‘mainport’. The power of open, innovative cooperation can be seen in a series of collective products and services too. We have come a long way.”
Continuing forward
Van Nunen says the organisation want to keep taking new steps over the next ten years. “We want better facilities in the region. We want to retain and develop talent and bring the market and companies together when it comes to new innovations.”
He says the new office did not open to any fanfare. “We just got straight to work. We do, however, have the goal of setting up a location for a very wide sector of the public. The upcoming Dutch Design Week is perfect for this.”
