Semiconductor company NXP opened its modernized Next Experience Lab yesterday.
The lab displays new demo applications, where NXP shows the various uses of the chips they develop.
For example, in the medical field, small chips make sure no patch will remain in the patient’s body after an operation. It registers how many patches enter the operating room so you can check if the same number ends up in the bin. Many new techniques can also be applied using a mobile phone.
The NXP-Lab will mainly be used for technology promotion purposes. The Lab is open during Dutch Technology Week and during Girlz Day, the technical event organized by the TU/e and intended to recruit girls into engineering studies.
