You might have seen a series of short, concise movies on TV in which Dutch people are promoting their own country.
It was a competition to see who can do best, and the winner is a man from Nuenen: Robin Bakkerus. He made a movie about the Alpe D’Huzes. The film is about climbing the mountain by bike in the Alps for charity. The Nuenen filmmaker wanted to show that the Netherlands is a charitable country.
The movies are part of a campaign called ‘Stichting Wereldland Nederland’ (foundation Netherlands world country). There was also a prize: Bakkerus won a chalet along the Dutch coast.
