HELMOND – In total 21 people have applied for the post of mayor for the municipality of Helmond.
They are four women and seventeen men. This is announced by the province.Between the candidates are eleven members of the CDA, five of the VVD and two of the PvdA. Three applicants are not member of a political party. Eleven people who want to succeed Fons Jacobs are or were mayor.The current mayor will leave 1 November; then he will have been ‘first citizen’ of Helmond for ten years.Source: Omroep Brabant
