Roller Derby National Championships

The Rockcity Rollers  are our local women’s Roller Derby Team and they are hosting and competing in the Dutch Championships – Blood, Skates, and Tears – on 10 & 11 December at the Beursgebouw in Eindhoven. It’s set to be an action packed weekend with 7 teams from around the country battling it out for the national title.

As an added bonus, the Rockcity Juniors will be taking on Copenhagen just before the final is played on Sunday.

A major event like this is also dependant on volunteers to help out on the day. If you’d like to volunteer, you will get into the event for free and lunch will be provided for you. You will also have the “eternal gratitude” of the organisers. And if you don’t speak Dutch? No problem. Many of the teams consist of both Dutch and international players, so English is widely used in the Roller Derby world. Sign up here if you’re interested in helping out.

If you’d like to get along and watch these feisty women in action, day tickets cost €12, or €20 for a weekend pass. Kids under 12 are free and the event is also dog friendly!

Tickets are available at the door.
