Construction will begin on a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge in Meerhoven next month.
The bridge will be located between the Waterrijk neighbourhood and Meerhoven shopping centre.
While construction is scheduled to be complete by November, residents will not be able to use the bridge until spring 2021. A new apartment building is also under construction nearby, leaving the surrounding area – including the bridge – closed to the public for safety reasons until that project is complete.
Equipment for the new bridge will be transported to Meerhoven in early September. The project may take longer in case of inclement weather.
