Library to screen documentaries

The Eindhoven documentary festival, DocFeed, is going on tour.

Watch controversial documentaries in the Waalre Library, followed by a Q&A with the director or one of the main characters. The first documentary – The Forgotten Hero – will be screened on Thursday, 5 September.

The life story of Sjef van Dongen, The Forgotten Hero, can be seen as an exciting book. It is a touching story of an ordinary boy from Brabant who made world news. After the screening, there will be time for discussion with the filmmaker, Frans Mouws.

A Dignified Death

On Thursday, 10 October, A Dignified Death is on the programme. Eelco was a man who had a psychologically unbearable life. He was tired of life and chose death by legal euthanasia. This documentary is about his mission, about breaking taboos, about friendship and saying goodbye.

Monique, Eelco’s mother, will be present this evening. After the screening, there is an opportunity to ask her questions.

The documentary to be shown on 7 November is still to be determined. 

These documentaries will start at 19:30. They will be shown in the Bibliotheek Waalre, Het Huis van Waalre, 19 Koningin Juliananlaan. Entrance is €4 for library members and €5 for non-members. Please register here.
