A 54-year-old man from Eindhoven was shot this morning on Beukenlaan in Strijp-S. He later died as a result of his injuries.

The victim was sitting in his car when he was shot. He was resuscitated at the scene but later died in hospital.

The motive behind the attack is not yet known.

The area was taped off to enable police investigators and forensic specialists to investigate the crime scene. A sniffer dog was also on the scene to search for bullet cases and any other traces that may help the police to identify the suspect.
