D66: make work of Tiny Forests

The Eindhoven City Council has to get started with the realisation of so-called Tiny Forests in Eindhoven. This is the D66’s (Democrats) opinion. The party again asked the City Council to get started on this.

Tiny Forests are, as the name implies, small stretches of forest, about the size of a tennis court. The idea behind this is that it will be good for children’s nature education and a green and sustainable living environment.

In response to earlier questions, the City Council already indicated that they would not make personnel available for the construction of such Tiny Forests. But according to the D66, the enthusiasm in the city is such that this needs to be given extra consideration.

The Institute for Nature Education and Sustainability, the Trefpunt Groen nature organisation, various schools, and the Stamtafel Biodiversiteit group are already on board. At the very least, the Municipality must support initiatives, the D66 finds.
