There are few things better than eating a fresh piece of fruit. Tomorrow, people from all over the country can visit orchards to pick their own fruit.
On several days, dozens of fruit growers will open their orchards and country shops. In Eindhoven, Philips Fruittuin (PhilipsFruit Garden), is one of these orchards that you and your family, can visit. Here, you will be able to pick apples, pears, and plums. Their pluckdagen (picking days) are tomorrow, 19 and 22 September.
There are also other orchards near the city that have picking days. One is De Fruitschuur in Nieuwendijk. You can pick apples here tomorrow from 10:00 to 16:00. At Fruitbedrijf van Lankveld, an hour away in Meerlo, apple picking days tomorrow and next Saturday, 22 September. Another orchard, Fruitteeltbedrijf De Stuifakker, is also an hour’s drive from Eindhoven. Their orchard will be open tomorrow from 10:00-16:00.
Some other orchards across the country can also be visited on these picking days. These picking days are organised by De Fruitigste (The Fruitiest). This campaign was created by the Dutch Fruit Growers Organization (NFO) to promote Dutch fruit. Fruit growers want to show everyone how much passion they have, and care for people and nature they grow a wide variety of fruit types.
