Eight PSV fans brought to court for smoke bomb incident

Eight supporters of PSV have to appear in court for igniting smoke bombs during PSV-Ajax in April 2017.

The Public Prosecution Service has announced this. The eight are being prosecuted for ‘arson with mortal danger’. A total of ten PSV fans were arrested for the incident. Two of them do not have to appear in court, because they have nothing to do with the incident.

On that infamous Sunday afternoon, supporters ignited smoke bombs in a corner of the stadium. Thick plumes of black smoke quickly spread across the stands where children ran out of the hallways out of panic. Supporters who were in the smoke suffered from breathing problems or stinging eyes.
