Spring is in full swing, and besides the lovely sunshine, it also means that Oak Processionary caterpillars are around again.
They are causing a nuisance in Nuenen, for example. The caterpillars can be found in the vicinity of the Crijnsschool.
This Friday, Nuenen will start the battle against these critters. An organic pesticide will be used. Depending on the need, trees will be treated once or twice.
Eindhoven has already launched the offensive against the Oak Processionary caterpillars. Here, an organic pesticide is also being used; it only affects the caterpillars and has no adverse effects on other insects or on the animals that eat the caterpillars.
