Yesterday Eindhoven News met with the press officer of Brabantsedag Dag Heeze, Mrs Dekkers, to establish a cooperation to better unlock the Brabant heritage parade for internationals.
The partnership is established because both parties feel their activities will benefit from working together.
Irene Martens, manager of Eindhoven News says: “I went to the parade last year and I was amazed by the richness, quality and high entertainment factor. It is a mobile theatre, many historical aspects of Dutch and Flemish Brabant pass-by in front of you. We are willing to invest energy to make sure many more international people can enjoy this cultural spectacle.”
Brabantsedag is ideal for creating interaction between local and international as along the road around 35,000 people will stand for a few hours to admire the mobile shows. Dutch people can explain more about the themes and backgrounds of the displays.
The Heeze event has a long tradition, this year (26 August 2018), will be the 61st time the parade will pull through the streets of this little village to the south of Eindhoven. It will again be a long float rich in Brabant culture, cabaret, music, visual display, entertainment and customs.
Every year there is a different theme, to which the builders start to create their mobile displays from June onwards. The 2018 theme is ‘From Ravenstein to Roosendaal’. Two towns in the province of North-Brabant, one to the east and one to the west. So the creators can pick a likable historic event, a tradition or a mishap, in any case, a remarkable feature will come to light again.
The weekend will be full of other activities to enjoy, like a market, different stages and delicious foods for the whole family. Interaction with the local crowd
The mission of the event is to keep Brabant’s culture and heritage alive with new generations. With only 10.000 villagers, this is a guaranteed success in Heeze, with at least a third of residents connected in one way or another with the Brabantsedag.
Mrs Dekkers: “We like to attract more international people to our festival, Eindhoven News is the gateway to this group. So put the date in your diaries already and come and join the parade on 26 of August.”
Soon there will be information in English on their website and where to order tickets.
