This year sees the 9th annual Visser Family Christmas Lights Show.
This spectacle of lights has grown over the years form having 850 visitors in its first year to more than 5 000 last year. The Christmas Lights Show Square, as the Visser Family’s back garden which was dubbed by Mayor Jack Millers, last year, has been having twice daily shows since 6 December.
Planning for this event begins in the summer already. Henk Visser chooses 50 songs from 1 000’s. He then, with the help of a work colleague, uses these songs to make the Christmas lights dance. “I am pleased that from last year, I have help from two neighbours as well”, says Henk of the Visser Family’s Light Show facebook page.
The in November, Henk, with the help of family members and a friend start with the construction of the displays. The lights are then added and everything is carefully checked. “I now use a lot of LED lights”, says Henk. “I have stopped keeping count. I also use seemingly endless lengths of cables.”
“If the weather plays along, there will be even more visitors this year”, says Henk. There is again, a collection box in the garden where people can leave a donation for the Ronald McDonald House in Veldhoven. Last year this amounted to more than EUR 1 600.
All this Christmas magic will be on show twice a day, at 2 Zevenberg in Veldhoven, at 18:30 and 20:00 until 1 January.
