St. Anna up in National hospital list

The St. Anna Hospital in Geldrop and Eindhoven has been ranked 9th on the National Hospital Top 100 list. This is a spectacular rise, since the medical centre was at number 75 last year. St. Anna is the highest ranked hospital in the region.

The Maxima Medical Centre also rose a number of places. Last year the hospital, which has branches in Veldhoven and Eindhoven, was at number 59, this year it climbed to number 29.

The Hospital Top 100 is a ranking system devised by national newspaper, Algemeen Dagblad (AD). In putting together the list, the AD used data hospitals are obliged to send to the IGZ, the Inspectorate of Health and Care, and to Zorginstituut Nederland, the watchdog for care institutions.

The hospitals are judged on 36 different criteria which combine the quality of treatment and care.
