Eindhoven is the first place outside the Randstad, where you can order a taxi from the Uber taxi service starting tomorrow.
De American taxi service chose Eindhoven because of the “innovative and international character”. According to the company, there was already some interest, indicated by the number of times users already looked through the app if a taxi was available here.
Uber will primarily focus on the High Tech Campus and Eindhoven Airport.
In the Netherlands, Uber is best known for the now discontinued service UberPOP, with which individuals could offer rides in their own cars though the app. But it turned out to be illegal and was banned.
Uber operates worldwide in more than five hundred cities in 73 countries.
