Philips has seen rising profits and sales for last year thanks to medical technology.
The returns went from 24.2 to 24.5 billion euros, and the net profit of 659 million euros to 1.5 billion euros. According to CEO Frans van Houten, the focus on health technology contributed to both professionals and consumers. For the coming years, the company expects positive figures again.
Philips has trouble with the US Department of Justice and the Food Safety Authority because of problems in the production of defibrillators.
The former electronics company has turned into a technology group in recent years, with a focus on health. Traditional Philips products such as televisions, audio and lighting are sold or divested.
