Three Eindhoven residents arrested after string of car thefts

The police has arrested two Eindhoven residents aged 23 and 24 years. The young men are suspected of dozens of car break-ins.

The number of car break-ins has drastically increased in from the start of June in Eindhoven and Veldhoven. Especially fast break-ins, so-called ‘snelkraken’ had increased, this is when a car window is pushed in and the loot, laptops and iPads are taken, in a very short space of time.

A special taskforce was put in place to further investigate these break-ins. And in their investigation, two particular persons, the two Eindhoven residents, came to the fore as possible suspects. They were arrested Thursday morning around 7 am at their residence. A 52 year old Eindhoven resident was also arrested. He is suspected to have sold the stolen goods from the car break-ins. A number of items, money and a car were confiscated. Investigation in the matter is continuing
