New regulation to help house people in crisis situation more quickly

There is a new urgency regulation for those seeking housing in the region of Eindhoven.

People in a crisis situation, and who urgently need to be housed, should be able to receive help more quickly, fairly and easily.
The regulation takes effect from 1 January and applies to Best, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Helmond, Nuenen, Oirschot, Son en Breugel, Veldhoven and Waalre. Applications are to be dealt with and processed by housing associations in the municipalities.

The regulation was made by the nine municipalities, together with ten housing associations. They will cooperate as a single municipality to make a success of the regulation.

Individuals and families who are unable, temporarily or otherwise, to find a solution themselves for their housing problems, can make use of the regulation, which will afford them priority in the social housing market.

The results will be examined after the summer. Any necessary improvements will then be made.
