According to Eindhovens Dagblad, the Eindhoven daily newspaper, the preparation work for building the Chinese Pavilion on Strijp S can take place somewhere between the end of February or the begin of March. After ten years, there is finally progress on this project.
The Chinese Pavilion is a gift from the Chinese sister city, Nanjing. The gift was given to Eindhoven in 2005. It has taken years before the city found a suitable place for the building of the pavilion. Finally, last November, a design was presented for the pavilion.
The project is progressing faster now. According to Eindhovens Dagblad, a building permit request will be filed with the municipality, shortly. Furthermore, residents in the area will be informed by beginning of February. It is, however, still unclear when the building of the pavilion may start. This depends whether people will file objections to the building permit request.
