Building of homes, where old school buildings exist, is for the time being, definitely unsure in Geldrop-Mierlo. The city council would like to initially, discuss the subject of future locations for schools.
The city council had formulated an overall development plan for quite a few locations in Geldrop and in Mierlo. It was decided, that in future, only houses will be allowed to replace old school buildings in certain locations.
Some of the buildings in question are, the St. Johannesschool in Mierlo, the Dommeldalschool and the Strabrechtcollege in Geldrop.
Due to the city council change of plans, the locations in question can now also house new school buildings, or any other social organisation. As a result of all these changes, the new development plans are supported by almost all city council members.
