‘City pays compensation for inconvenience to the shops faster’

The municipality will pay money faster to stores who are suffering or have suffered from repair works in front of their shops. This reports the Eindhovens Dagblad. Sales at many retailers is decreasing because of the repair works in front of their shops.

Normally, entrepreneurs get compensated only when their loss is more than 15% of their turnover. The shop owners feel that this is too high a percentage. Now, the compensation is given if the loss is more than 8%.

The city council says that this arrangement fits within the current economic situation.
