Eindhoven “in top 5 for firework damage”

Eindhoven is one of the Netherlands’ top five cities with the most firework damage.

During the last New Year period, the city placed fifth with damages reported at €65,000, De Telegraaf reports. Another Brabant city, Breda, placed 6th. Rotterdam topped the list with €400,000 worth of damage caused by fireworks.

Vuurwerkoverlast.nl (firework damage hotline) has already received hundreds of reports, while municipalities are taking increased measures towards firework-free zones.

Eindhoven ensures additional control in "vulnerable" areas such as refugee shelters and care homes, however more can be done.
