Five suspects arrested in major drug bust

Resident of Eindhoven arrested for threatening with a knife

In a major police campaign on Tuesday in Eindhoven and Helmond, five men have been arrested for exploiting hemp farms. The men would have set up nurseries in Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Helmond and the Limburg Oirsbeek.

The action stemmed from an investigation of the national authority (OM), the national criminal investigation department (‘Recherche’) and police unit East Brabant.

The 36-year-old main suspect was arrested this morning around 7:00 hrs in Eindhoven in his home in Tongelre. Officers found various attributes to hemp farms, such as lamps and electrical boxes.

In the house of one of the Eindhoven men, police found a hemp nursery without plants. In a shed in Nuenen remains of hemp were discovered. Police suspect that the criminals used this space for hemp cutting.
