The first part of the Kennedylaan direction city centre was reopened to traffic yesterday evening.
The municipality had started with the road improvement of the Kennedylaan, inside the Ring road, immediately after the end of the Park Hilaria event. The road has been made narrow by going from 2×3 lanes to 2×2 lanes. Furthermore, the road has been closed to all traffic for a number of weeks, since maintenance on the road has also taken place. The asphalt has been replaced and the trees in the median of the road got more growing space.
The Kennedylaan road construction is divided into various phases. The total maintenance work on the Kennedylaan will probably take place until the end of March next year.
