Care robot Zora moves into Archipel Nuenen

Clients at Archipel Akkers care home in Nuenen, will have a new housemate from today: a care robot. The robot’s name is Zora and the idea is that it will help staff with the care of the elderly.

Zora stands for Zorg Ouderen Revalidatie en Animatie (care elderly rehabilitation and animation). The robot is 57 centimetres high, has all sorts of sensors and can be completely programmed.

The robot can actively help with the care of the elderly, and can also provide entertainment. Zora can sing songs with the clients, play memory games or demonstrate the exercises during physiotherapy, for example.

Alderman Paul Weijmans will welcome the robot to its new home this afternoon.
