Twosome caught with masks and firearms

Police have arrested two men at a supermarket this afternoon, they wore masks and possibly had firearms.

Some minutes earlier a police man on bike saw a car which caught the attention on the Boschdijk. The license plate was hanging loose and one of the occupants was wearing a mask. The driver went off almost immediately, where after the officer alarmed his colleagues.

While officers went looking for the car, an alert witness spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of a supermarket on the Boschdijk. There indeed the car was found, with the engine running. The driver was nowhere to be seen, but the passenger was sitting with a mask over his head in the car.

Under the driver’s seat was something that looked like a firearm. The object is taken to the police office for inspection. Also a second mask and pair of gloves were found in the car. This man, the youngest suspect, got detained. The arrest of the driver followed a short time later at the exit of the supermarket.

The two are in custody. Further research should reveal the plans and intentions of the two men. The car has been seized.
