Potential buyers for TD building

Fifteen potential buyers have expressed interest in Eindhoven’s TD (technical department) building over the past year.

According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, five of those fifteen remain in the race to take over the imposing office building on the Edenstraat.

It is not yet known who the buyers are, what their plans are for the building, or how much they are offering to pay.

The city council has been trying to sell its technical service’s former residence for several years. A market consultation two years ago attracted dozens of interested organisations and individuals, however no concrete offer was ever made. When the real estate market picked up again in 2014, the municipality began the selling process. This led to fifteen interested parties and eventually the current five.

The city suffered considerable losses on the building, currently valued at just €7million. If it sells for that price, the city will contribute more than €15 million.
