Eindhoven at Kings Day: cosy and sunny

Koningsdag 2015 in Eindhoven passed by ‘quiet’ and cosy. Throughout the city, from Meerhoven to Strijp-S, to the Bergen (Grote and Kleine Berg), there were markets, gigs and many other parties and events.

It was busy, but not as busy as last year. The municipality estimates 120,000 visitors come to Eindhoven to celebrate Kings’ Day.

This is less compared to last year, possibly due to the weather. "Last year it was 25 degrees, this year the weather forecast was less positive," said a spokeswoman of the municipality to Eindhovens Dagblad. But this hasn’t stopped many a partygoer. Despite the poor predictions the day was overall sunny and it stayed dry.

Especially in the inner city it was very busy. As for years the Majestic Dance Event at Stadhuisplein was one of the most popular areas. But also on the Wilhelminaplein it was ‘gezellig’ (cosy). There was a stage and a flea market.
