TUe launches plan for a Graduate School in ‘s-Hertogenbosch

TUe and Tilburg University (TiU) intend to establish a joint Graduate School in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

The new academic centre will offer three Master’s tracks: Data Science, Entrepreneurship and Governance. This was announced today by the president of the Executive Board of Tilburg University, Koen Becking, and the Rector Magnificus of TU/e, Hans van Duijn, in their speech on the opening of the academic year of the Dutch universities.

The universities are joining forces in the development of Data Science and Big Data because of the vital importance of these subjects for both industry and society at large. The new school will offer international education for PhDs, Master’s students and entrepreneurs.

The two universities will carry out a feasibility study in the coming months into the growing need for academically educated data scientists, entrepreneurs and managers. The parties will take a final decision on the plan by the end of 2014.
