Paddling ban on Dommel river lifted

Since the Dommel river’s water level has dropped substantially, it is now safe to engage in canoeing again. This was made public by the local Water Board, ‘Waterschap de Dommel’.

Due to extremely high water levels last week, canoeing was temporarily banned. However, since the water board employed a special mowing boat to remove underwater plants, the water level dropped substantially to a safe level.

This process occurs gradually and is not immediately noticed. However, it is now safe to paddle on the Dommel river again.
