TU/e ice dome builders hoping to meet the deadline

The ice dome builders from the TU Eindhoven who are currently in Finland, are hoping to to finish their biggest ice dome ever within the deadline as confirmed by the project manager Arno Pronk.

The construction of a dome of a 30 metres diameter is not the easiest taski. For the first time in years it was too hot for good snow and ice in Finland, and when it finally was cold enough someone literally pulled the plug out of the project. This caused much delay.

But most probably the students are going to save the day. The deadline is tomorrow. Tonight the air cushion, which is underneath the dome, will be removed. Then the ice has another night to freeze. Tomorrow morning the dome will be tested to check if it is solid enough. If it all goes well, the official opening will be at 12.00 hrs.
