Record number of births at MMC Veldhoven

A record number of women gave birth at the Máxima Medisch Centrum (Maxima Medical Centre) in Veldhoven. An average of 7 women per day gave birth at the special ‘Vrouw-Moeder-Kind’ centre (Family-centred care centre) in 2013.

Nationwide, the number of births has been stable the last few years, but in the MMC that number is rising. A 4 percent rise compared to 2012.

During their stay at the Family-Centred Care Centre, mother and baby are together 24 hours per day.

The MMC works in close collaboration with local midwives. Pregnant women can chose a homey delivery room to deliver ‘at home at the hospital’. Last year, 273 women opted for such a delivery.
