Share Hope – Benefit Concert

May 14, 2017 @ 14:30 - 17:00

Free

Eindhoven ~ Kobanê is a working group of the Peace Office and was founded after two visits to the almost completely destroyed city of Kobanê / `Ayn al-`Arab in northern Syria. Why? Because we feel that doing nothing is not an option. Many residents of Kobanê have returned. People with the same ideals as us try to overcome their fear of other people. They organize themselves to build a new life together. The Local Council of Women at Kobanê has set up a school for disabled children and asks for support in order to provide better education and therapy for this often forgotten group. The school’s name is Hîvî, meaning Hope.

On our part, we are organising a concert to raise awareness and support for those people who, despite the war, want to remain in the Middle East, to work there at an acceptable and decent future for all. The concert, called Share Hope, will be held on Sunday May 14th, 14.30–17.00 hrs, at the St.Catharina church (Kerkstraat 1, Eindhoven).

Listening to music from different continents is a way to keep alive the hope of a future for all children, without a lot of words. In addition, we also want to focus on opportunities for concrete cooperation across all borders.
