Fontys Students can move robot with headset

Tuesday, 25 September 2012

EINDHOVEN – Students of the Fontys University Engineering in Eindhoven can move robots with their thoughts. The students and researchers use an existing headset that can measure brain activity.

They do this project together with researchers from the knowledge centre Mechatronics and Robotics. Several scientists in the world have spent years already on technology that connects with your thoughts. According to professor Henk Kiela it is the first time that a robot can be brought into motion with existing headsets.”For most people it is still incredibly futuristic to make robots react to your thoughts” says Henk Kiela. Fontys hopes there are companies that like to seize the opportunity and want to collaborate with the school.
