EINDHOVEN – A number of environmental institutes took samples of sewage in Eindhoven last march. They concluded that the following drugs are used a lot in the city: Cocaine, XTC and Cannabis.
According to the local mayor and Eindhoven county councilors, sewage from nine other areas converge in the area the sewage sample came from. In addition, drugs labs often dump goods into the sewer regularly. Furthermore, the local council confirmed that recreational drug use is unfortunately becoming a regular part of local nightlife, when answering questions posed by the CDA council member Paul Leenders. However, Eindhoven does not wish to trivialize the research results. “Drugs use and dealing hard drugs needs to be tackled and reduced. We have a proactive approach and are working together with local police, public prosecution service and other partners.” Source: Omroep Brabant
