Eight permit holders from Nuenen may live at the Witte Hondpad temporarily, the municipality said in a press release.
The College of Mayors and Councillors have chosen from four preferred locations. In addition to housing for the eight permit holders, there also will be temporary homes for urgent house hunters. In total, a maximum of twenty temporary accommodation units must be realized.
In addition to the Witte Hondpad, Wettenseind, Hongermanpad and Pastoorsmast were also in the race for reception centre. The former is the most suitable according to the college, due to its immediate availability, its location, and the size of the area.
During a residents’ night in September, further details regarding the decision to use Witte Hondpad will be given. The municipality emphasizes that shipping containers will not be used as homes. During the residents’ meeting there will also be an opportunity for local residents to share their thoughts.
