In the neighbourhood Berckelbosch, 74 IQ-houses were handed to their owners on Saturday. IQ-houses are zero net energy houses (ZNE houses), with additional insulation and solar panels.
Building started almost a year ago. The rental homes are mainly pre-fab and made in a factory. Their style was inspired by 1930s homes.
The opening of the new neighbourhood was celebrated with all kinds of activities for children and adults.
Building corporation Woonbedrijf and construction company Ballast Nedam initiated the zero energy housing project.
